Ioannis "Yanni" was born in British Columbia to a Greek father and a Portuguese mother. His parents worked and met in the same restaurant they now own today, The Diamond Steak and Seafood, in Osoyoos, BC. Ioannis spent his childhood in the kitchen, cooking authentic Greek dishes with his dad, where he gained valuable culinary and business skills over the years.
Now, Ioannis has decided to carry on the family tradition and is opening a Greek restaurant here in the Treasure Valley with his American family. He and his wife, Amanda, have a blended family with nine kids, four dogs, and four chickens.
They reside in Nampa, Idaho, and have been hoping that this authentic Greek cuisine is just what the area needs. They have reached out for feedback regarding where to open, and they were overwhelmed with responses about opening in Nampa. Therefore, Yanni's searched high and low for the perfect spot and finally found one, with the help of community members.
